EMN Annual Report outlines key developments in the area of migration and asylum in 2022

The European Migration Network has published the Annual Report on Migration and Asylum that offers a comprehensive overview of the key developments in the contributing EMN Member and Observer Countries in 2022. The event that has distinctly defined this period was the invasion of the Ukraine on 24 February 2022. Following the invasion, an influx of people fleeing the war in Ukraine led to the activation of the Temporary Protection Directive. The European Migration Network (EMN) Member and Observer Countries concentrated their efforts on providing safe shelter to people fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Modern slavery in the fishing industry. Watch the breath-taking film Buoyancy

Thailand is a known holidays destination. What happens behind the eyes of tourists in its ports and on the sea? What does modern slavery in the fishing industry look like? We have the pleasure to invite you to the Slovak premiere of the drama film Buoyancy which tells stories of modern slavery in the fishing industry.The film will be presented on 4 July 2023 in Kino Mladosť in Bratislava as part of the 9th EMN Educational Seminar on Migration: Protection of Migrants in Vulnerable Situations. The entry is free.

Take part in the EMN Discussion Evening: The New Europeans with the Slovak film premiere

We have the pleasure to invite you to the Slovak film premiere of the documentary The New Europeans which will be followed by an expert discussion on migration topics. The EMN Discussion Evening will take place on 3 July 2023 at 7.30 pm in Kino Mladosť in Bratislava as part of the 9th EMN Educational Seminar on Migration: Protection of Migrants in Vulnerable Situations. The entry is free.
