On 2^nd and 3^rd October 2018 International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for Slovak Republic organised in cooperation with the Bureau of Border and Foreign Police of the Presidium of the Police Force a small scale  meeting in Malatíny for the representatives of selected institutions working in the field of law making and implementation regarding legal and irregular migration of third country nationals to the Slovak Republic.

International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the coordinator of EMN activities in Slovakia presented the EMN Asylum and Migration Glossary during the 14. Slovak Terminology Network conference which took place in Bratislava on 15 November 2018. This multilingual  and explanantory dictionary which is compiled within the EMN by the EU Member States and Norway, aims to unify the usage and understanding of migration terms and their definitions in order to enhance the comparability of such terms in the EU.

On 25 October 2018, International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the Coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the SR organized a working breakfast meeting in Bratislava themed: "Unaccompanied Minors Care and Protection in Slovakia: Challenges and Practices".

On 7 November 2018, International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Migration Office of the Ministry of Interior of the SR as the members of EMN Contact Point for the Slovak Republic organized a small-scale meeting on the addressing the topic of migration to the public.

International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the EMN coordinator for Slovakia organised the 6th EMN Educational Seminar on Migration entitled “Causes and Consequences of Forced Migration” which was held in Bratislava, Slovakia on 22 - 24 August 2018.
