On 22 May in Bratislava, Slovakia, International Organization for Migration (IOM), Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic and Human Rights League as members of European Migration Network (EMN) organized the EMN Working Breakfast with journalists.  Besides the journalists and hosts, representatives of the Migration Office of MoI and the Committee for the Prevention and the Elimination of Racism, Xenophobia, Anti-Semitism and Other Forms of Intolerance of MoI were also present.

The European Migration Network was established by the Council of the European Union Decision 2008/381/EC adopted on 14 May 2008.  Over the past 10 years the EMN has provided up-to-date, comparable and objective information on migration and asylum in the EU, contributing to policymaking and public debate.

On 12 January 2018 in Bratislava, Slovakia, International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized a cluster meeting on elaboration of EMN study specifications about integration measures in the labour market for persons from third countries. Representatives of EMN National Contact Points who proposed the study (Slovakia, Croatia and Lithuania) as well as other members of the preparatory group (Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, EMN service provider and European Commission).

On 25-26 October 2017 International Organization for Migration (IOM), as the coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for the Slovak Republic organised, together with the  Bureau of the Border and Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium, a small scale meeting in Malatiny for the representatives of selected institutions/bodies active in the field of law making and implementation of legislation related to legal and irregular migration of third-country nationals to Slovakia. The meeting was attended by 27 participants.

On 6 June 2017, EMN National Contact Point for Lithuania organised the EMN National Conference entitled “Private and community based initiatives to support integration of refugees”. Among the speakers of the conference were experts from state administration, local and international projects and initiatives, as well as international organisations.
