On 29 September 2016 Hungarian EMN NCP organized the 17^th EMN national conference on Different examples of managing and identifying statelessness. The conference was attended by a variety of representatives from state administration, EMN NCPs, intergovernmental organisations, members of non-governmental organisations and other experts from across the Europe. This international event was aiming at presenting and discussing forms of international cooperation developed within the field of statelessness. Topically, the conference was divided into 3 panels: statelessness determination (definition, reasons), preventing childhood statelessness and durable solutions.

On 6 October 2016, EMN National Contact Point for Italy organised the EMN National Conference entitled Reception and integration: the role of small and medium sized towns. The conference was held in Rome and the speakers discussed good practices and challenges in relation to the integration of refugees in Europe with focus on the experience from Italy.

EMN organized a public screening of the Hollywood film The Good Lie about Sudanese refugees resettled to the United States. More than 100 visitors came to Kino Lumière in Bratislava on 3 July 2017 to watch the film inspired by true stories of “Lost Boys of Sudan”.

On 4 July 2017, EMN organized a public discussion evening entitled Refugee camp, my home which welcomed more than 100 visitors. The discussion was preceded by screening of the documentary film Salam Neighbor together with a video message from the directors Chris Temple and Zach Ingrasci.

International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the EMN coordinator for Slovakia organised the 5th EMN Educational Seminar on Migration entitled “Addressing the needs of forced migrants in the 21st century” which was held in Bratislava, Slovakia on 3 - 5 July 2017. The seminar welcomed 17 experts from international organisations, institutions and non-governmental organisations who lectured about migratory trends and international governance, enhancement of safe and legal pathways for migrants, protection of migrants, and empowerment of refugees of the 21st century.
