International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the EMN coordinator for Slovakia organised the 7th EMN Educational Seminar on Migration entitled ”Impacts and Opportunities of International Migration“ which was held in Bratislava, Slovakia on 20 - 22 August 2019. The seminar welcomed 15 experts from international organizations and institutions, non-governmental sector, research institutions and academia from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Senegal, Switzerland, The Netherlands and United Kingdom.

On 24 – 25 September 2019, the Migration Office of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as members of the EMN National Contact Point for Slovakia organized in Bratislava a thematic meeting of the national migration network on the topic Health care provision to asylum seekers and foreigners with subsidiary protection.

On 2^nd and 3^rd October 2018 International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for Slovak Republic organised in cooperation with the Bureau of Border and Foreign Police of the Presidium of the Police Force a small scale  meeting in Malatíny for the representatives of selected institutions working in the field of law making and implementation regarding legal and irregular migration of third country nationals to the Slovak Republic.

International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the coordinator of EMN activities in Slovakia presented the EMN Asylum and Migration Glossary during the 14. Slovak Terminology Network conference which took place in Bratislava on 15 November 2018. This multilingual  and explanantory dictionary which is compiled within the EMN by the EU Member States and Norway, aims to unify the usage and understanding of migration terms and their definitions in order to enhance the comparability of such terms in the EU.
