EMN Slovakia presented a new educational activity called Destination Europe

14 June 2022

Visitors of the celebration of the Europe Day at the Old Market in Bratislava had an opportunity to get to know a new educational activity of the EMN entitled Destination Europe for the first time in the Slovak translation. Pupils, students, their teachers as well as broader public tested their knowledge on migration in Slovakia and in the world, watched a presentation video about the activity and familiarised themselves with its printed version.

Destination Europe is a learning and training tool based on role-play that accommodates 4 to 6 players. Over 90 minutes, they experience migration decision-making as a complex process that involves different actors with sometimes conflicting interests. The tool illustrates real-life impacts policy decisions can have on various categories of migrants and the public in the countries that receive them. The educational tool was developed by the European Migration Network. More information can be found at https://destinationeurope.uni.lu.

The public event Europe Day tool place on 9 May 2022 and it was organized by the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia, the Office of the European Parliament in Slovakia and the European Investment Bank.

The event presented also the embassies of the EU countries, institutions and EU projects, ministries and other public authorities of the Slovak Republic.

The EMN Slovakia is currently preparing a pilot phase of the workshops on the topic of migration that will take place in autumn 2022. The students will be able to test the new educational activity Destination Europe, too. The workshop is divided into two sessions in a duration of 1,5 hour, but it is also possible to accommodate its duration to the needs of a school or class. The workshops are free of charge. We will be pleased to provide you with more information. Please contact us at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
