EMN Working Breakfast on Unaccompanied Minors Care and Protection in Slovakia: Challenges and Practices, Bratislava, October 2018

On 25 October 2018, International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the Coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the SR organized a working breakfast meeting in Bratislava themed: "Unaccompanied Minors Care and Protection in Slovakia: Challenges and Practices".

The meeting aimed at improving the care of unaccompanied minors and coordinating and getting feedback from collaborating organizations working in this area. EMN presented activities and outputs, which were related to the working portfolio of the participants.

The participants discussed among other topics the system of work with unaccompanied minors, measures aimed at reducing the escapes of unaccompanied minors, identifying the best interest of the child. The outcomes from the Synthesis report for the EMN Study Approaches to Unaccompanied Minors Following Status Determination in the EU plus Norway were also presented.
