A representative of the EMN National Contact Point in SR took part on the Information Day with European Asylum Support Office (EASO) organised by the Migration Office of the Ministry of Interior of the SR (MO MoI SR) on 19 June 2017 as a part of the common event of EU Member States dedicated to the presentation of the EASO.
EASO, an office focused on strengthening the cooperation among the EU Member States in the field of asylum policy, supporting the implementation of the Common European Asylum System and aiding the Member States under increased pressure due to migration flows, celebrated its 6th anniversary since its establishment.
The event included, besides interesting presentations, also information on the cooperation between SR and EASO in the variety of fields. Among the attendants of the event were representatives of the MO MoI SR, Bureau of Border and Alien Police of PFP, Police Forces Academy, Office of the Minister of Interior, UNHCR, IOM, non-governmental organisations as well as international experts from EASO. In the beginning information on the role and tasks of EASO as well as on proposed changes regarding the transformation of EASO to EU Asylum Agency were presented. In the next presentation entitled EASO Training Curriculum the representatives from EASO described the training programme of EASO and practical tools. Information on various types of operational support of the EASO office followed in the next presentation. The representatives of the MO MoI SR shared their experiences from working at the asylum support mission in hotspots in Greece, Italy and Cyprus. In the end of the info day experts from EASO introduced the activities regarding the Information and Documentary System of EASO containing information on asylum practice of the EU Member States.
