EMN organized a public screening of the Hollywood film The Good Lie about Sudanese refugees resettled to the United States. More than 100 visitors came to Kino Lumière in Bratislava on 3 July 2017 to watch the film inspired by true stories of “Lost Boys of Sudan”.
About the film:
A group of young refugees orphaned by the civil war in Sudan that began in 1983 are given a chance to resettle in the United States from a Kenyan refugee camp where they have lived for 13 years. After arriving in Kansas City, Missouri, their encounter with an employment agency counsellor forever changes all of their lives.
The film screening was organised within the 5th EMN Educational Seminar on Migration entitled “Addressing the needs of forced migrants in the 21st century” held in Bratislava on 3 – 5 July 2017. More information about the seminar is available here.
