In October and November 2016, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the Coordinator of the National Contact Point of the EMN for the Slovak Republic organised, together with the Bureau of the Border and Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium, two small scale meetings for the representatives of selected institutions / bodies active in the field of law making and application process related to legal and irregular migration of third-country nationals to Slovakia. It was held in Malatiny.
The aim of these working meetings was to exchange information and to discuss current issues arisen from practical implementation of provisions concerning residence of third-country nationals, visa regime, cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic in the area of work of Diplomatic Missions of the Slovak Republic including generating ideas to help them in problem solving. During the meetings, selected EMN outputs were disseminated and participants were informed about the outcomes from the EMN Conference as well as about the planned EMN studies on Family reunification and Illegal employment. Among the attendants were representatives from the Bureau of Border and Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium, Alien Police Directorates from Slovak regions, the Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and IOM.
