On 11-12 June 2015, the EMN Small Scale Meeting in Demänová was organised in cooperation with the Bureau of the Border and Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium (P FP) on the topic Implementation of new provisions of the national legislation in the field of regular and irregular migration of third-country nationals to the Slovak Republic. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Bureau of the Border and Alien Police of the P FP, Border and Alien Police directorates from the Slovak regions, Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the coordinator of the EMN activities in the Slovak Republic.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss issues arising from practical implementation of provisions concerning labour migration, visa regime and cooperation with Slovak consular offices abroad. Furthermore, possible solutions for problematic areas were discussed. Apart from this, current and planned EMN outputs, which thematically belonged to the work portfolio of the participants, as well as planned activities for the year 2015, were presented during the meeting. The event contributed to the enhanced coordination and cooperation of different stakeholders and to the exchange of actual information which will be used and taken into consideration during preparation of methodological, legislative and other documents.
