On June 27, 2014 the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) organised a Cluster Meeting on the topic Experiences in Organising the EMN Annual Conference. The meeting was attended by representatives of National Contact Points from Member States which have already organised the conference (Poland, Lithuania and Greece) as well as those state which are preparing this event in the future (Latvia, Luxembourg and Slovak Republic). Besides, a delegate from the EMN Service Provider (ICFI) took part as well.
The participants discussed preparation of the budget and eligibility of costs; selection of the conference theme and date; organisational and technical issues; media coverage and dissemination of information; impact, outputs and evaluation of the conference at national and EU level; and role of the EMN Service Provider during the preparation of the conference. Obtained information including both facts and descriptions of procedures as well as good practices and lessons learned will be subsequently transformed into a manual and will serve to Member States when organising not just the EMN annual conference but also other EMN meetings and events.
