On June 10 – 11, 2014, IOM Bratislava as the coordinator of the National Contact Point EMN in the Slovak Republic organized a meeting in Piestany which was attended by selected institutions operating actively in the field of asylum and international protection.
The aim of the meeting was to enhance cooperation among state institutions, non-governmental sector and public administration. The discussion was mainly focused on current and long-term practical problems related to the integration of persons with granted international protection, particularly in the area of health care, housing, financial assistance etc. Possible solutions as well as ways of further implementation of integration projects were proposed during the debate. Presentation of the main findings of the EMN study Identification of Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings in International Protection and Forced Return Procedures in the Slovak Republic and specifications of the upcoming study on unaccompanied minors were also introduced.
