Centre for the Recognition of Diplomas of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic organized on 17 January 2013 in Bratislava seminar entitled Challenges and Views on Migration Connected with Free Movement of Persons and Recognition of Professional Qualifications within the European Union. The seminar was aimed at several issues related to this topic which are implemented in the Slovak Republic and within the European Union.
At the beginning of the seminar, SK EMN NCP represented by Ms. Andrea Frkáňová, presented main results and outcomes from the EMN study on Immigration of International Students to the Slovak Republic, as a part of which recognition of the education and professional qualification serves as a one of the key tools for enhancing academic mobility.
Next presentations were aimed at practical measures and recent developments in the field of recognition of the education and professional qualifications e.g. Europass and its practise, actual legislative changes related to this topic which are currently discussed in the Slovak parliament, etc.
As a part of the panel discussion, representatives of some recognition bodies active in field of recognizing professional qualifications in the regulated activities in the Slovak Republic, presented their experiences and practice in relation to the transposition of the EU Directive 2005/36/EC on recognition of professional qualifications. The seminar ended up by discussion in three working groups aimed at recognition and use of Europass in regional and higher education as well as at recognition of professional qualifications.
