International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the coordinator of the EMN activities in Slovakia held a working breakfast on the upcoming EMN focussed study titled Attracting Highly-Qualified and Qualified Third-Country Nationals: Good Practices and Lessons Learned.
Study will outline policies and concrete practical measures in the EU Member States that aim to attract highly qualified and qualified migrant workers from third countries. It will also identify good practices and lessons learned in the EU Member States and Norway in this field. More specifically, the study will aim to provide an overview of the effectiveness of different practical measures, labour migration agreements as well as to identify challenges or barriers that affect the attractiveness of an EU Member State for highly qualified and qualified third-country nationals’ immigration.
At the meeting, IOM representatives introduced approved study specifications and discussed the situation in the Slovak Republic as well as availability of data and statistics in the related areas with invited participants. Working breakfast was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family and Bureau of Border and Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium.
