In November and December 2012, members of the Slovak EMN National Contact Point (NCP) participated in the following interesting conferences and seminars:
SAIA together with partner organisations prepared third Academic Mobility and Internationalisation Day in Bratislava on 20 November 2012. Aim of this one-day conference was to provide university and research institution representatives working in the field of international cooperation and internationalisation with up-to-date information about new policies, changes in legislation and Slovak supportive programs as well as to create room for discussion about current problems in their fields of work. Conference put traditionally focus also on issues of residence of foreigners in the area of education and science. More about the programme and outputs of the conference can be found here.
On 6 November 2012, IOM International Organization for Migration organised within the framework of LINET (Independent Network of Labour Migration and Integration Experts) a high-level Brussels conference on Improving Access to Labour Market Information for Migrants and Employers. Among other, preliminary findings of the LINET study were presented together with case studies. More about the conference programme can be found here.
The French EMN National Contact Point prepared a conference entitled Towards a Common European Asylum System: Challenges and Opportunities on in Paris on 29th November.The conference was preceded by a cluster meeting at which EMN members discussed the reception of asylum seekers. The EMN National Contact Point Austria organised a conference on the topic of Immigration of International Students from Third Countries to the EU and Austria which was held in Vienna on 17 December 2012, followed by a cluster meeting on sharing good practice with regard to methodology and carrying out EMN research. On the same day, the Irish EMN National Contact Point held a conference on Challenges in Protection which was aimed at Common European Asylum System, human trafficking and reception systems.
