Annual Report on Migration and Asylum 2021

The report provides a comprehensive overview of the developments and situation in the area of migration and asylum in the EU Member States, Norway and for the first time also in Georgia in 2021. It provides available statistical data, too. Topics range from legal migration and integration to border control and return of third-country nationals. The report presents an overview of measures implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic across all of the migration areas. It also describes measures taken as a reaction to the crisis at the Belarus border and the fall of the Afghan government which resulted in an increased influx of migrants and refugees.
