EMN Small Scale Meeting with representatives of selected institutions active in law making and application process regarding legal and irregular migration, Malatíny, March 2018

On 27 - 28 March 2018 International Organization for Migration (IOM), as the coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for the Slovak Republic organised, together with the Bureau of the Border and Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium (BBAP PFP), a small scale meeting in Malatíny for the representatives of selected institutions/bodies active in the field of law making and implementation of legislation related to legal and irregular migration of third-country nationals to Slovakia.

The aim of this small scale meeting was the exchange of information related to the implementation challenges in the field of legal and irregular migration of the third-country nationals and discussion on the current practical issues of implementation of legislation related to the residence, returns, visa regime, unaccompanied minors and assessing the business plans. Proposals for potential solutions in the problematic areas were also discussed. At the same time relevant EMN outputs were made available for attendees. The meeting was attended by representatives of the BBAP PFP, police detention centres for aliens, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the SR, Ministry of Economy of the SR, Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the SR.
