The centre, as the essential tool of IOM Bratislava for integration of migrants in Slovakia, provides third-country nationals with free legal and social counselling, labour counselling including assistance with job search, retraining and Slovak language learning and support of migrant community life in Slovakia.

The Effectiveness of Return in EU (2017)

This EMN inform summarizes the key findings of the  EMN Synthesis report on the effectiveness of returns in the EU. It provides an overview of the impact of EU rules on return and related case law from the Court of Justice of the European Union – on Member States’ return policies and practices and hence on the effectiveness of return decisions issued across the EU. It also outlines the challenges encountered by Member States in effectively implementing returns, as well as identify any good practices developed to ensure the enforcement of return obligations.

This EMN Inform summarises the key findings of the EMN Synthesis Report on challenges and practices for establishing identity of third-country nationals in migration processes. It provides the overview of the challenges faced by national authorities in their efforts to reliably verify the identity of third-country nationals within the context of various migration procedures and of national practices of EU Member States to address those challenges. 

This EMN Inform summarises the key findings of the EMN Study on the changes in immigration status within the framework of various legislation in different EU Member States. It highlights the changes in purpose of stay and the main factors influencing Member States' admission of the change. Inform includes also the main challenges Member States face in this regards, identifies good practices and lessons learnt as well as analyses the effectiveness, impact and perception of national change of status policies.

This EMN Inform provides an overview of applicable fees for issuance of residence permits to third-country nationals. The legal framework of fees has been regulated by various EU directives. The information included in the Inform is valid as of September 2014.

This EMN Inform summarises the main findings from the respective of the EMN synthesis report dealing with the political and legislative framework regulating the participation of third-country nationals in EU Member States and Norway’s social security systems, as well as with access of this group of migrants to various social security benefits and healthcare.

This EMN Inform provides information on the use of quotas by Member States as one of a possible range of measures to manage labour migration from third countries, as well as secondary movements of third country nationals, exercising mobility for the purpose of employment within the EU.

This EMN Inform is based on the findings of the EMN Focussed Study 2013 on Attracting Highly Qualified and Qualified Third-Country nationals, informed by National Reports from the EU Member States and Norway, which describes policies and legislative measures of states in this area.
