On 22 April in Bratislava, Slovakia, International Organization for Migration (IOM), Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic and Human Rights League as members of European Migration Network (EMN) organized the EMN Working Breakfast with journalists.  Besides the journalists and hosts, representatives of the Migration Office of MoI and the Committee for the Prevention and the Elimination of Racism, Xenophobia, Anti-Semitism and Other Forms of Intolerance of MoI were also present.

On 19 - 20 April 2018, International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the Coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for the Slovak Republic  in cooperation with the Migration Office of the Ministry of Interior of the SR organised a small scale meeting in Piešťany themed „Prevention of the unsuccessful integration of persons granted international protection in the SR“ for the representatives of selected bodies working with the asylum seekers and persons granted international protection in the SR.

On 27 - 28 March 2018 International Organization for Migration (IOM), as the coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for the Slovak Republic organised, together with the Bureau of the Border and Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium (BBAP PFP), a small scale meeting in Malatíny for the representatives of selected institutions/bodies active in the field of law making and implementation of legislation related to legal and irregular migration of third-country nationals to Slovakia.

The European Migration Network was established by the Council of the European Union Decision 2008/381/EC adopted on 14 May 2008.  Over the past 10 years the EMN has provided up-to-date, comparable and objective information on migration and asylum in the EU, contributing to policymaking and public debate.

During this time, we have produced comparable, EU-level research on a wide range of topics across all aspects of migration and asylum policy, from labour migration, to integration, family reunification, international protection, trafficking in human beings and return. 

On 12 January 2018 in Bratislava, Slovakia, International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized a cluster meeting on elaboration of EMN study specifications about integration measures in the labour market for persons from third countries. Representatives of EMN National Contact Points who proposed the study (Slovakia, Croatia and Lithuania) as well as other members of the preparatory group (Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, EMN service provider and European Commission).

On 25-26 October 2017 International Organization for Migration (IOM), as the coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for the Slovak Republic organised, together with the  Bureau of the Border and Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium, a small scale meeting in Malatiny for the representatives of selected institutions/bodies active in the field of law making and implementation of legislation related to legal and irregular migration of third-country nationals to Slovakia. The meeting was attended by 27 participants.
